ENCOURAGEMENT

In the garden sad and tired
Our Savior to the ground was bent.
He was alone and not one word
Was spoke for his encouragement.

That night the trial was bitter sore.
His visage fell His clothes were rent
He was deserted by His friends.
For Him was no encouragement.

And on the road to Calvary
Our lord fell down, His strength was spent.
A man nearby picked up His cross
And gave the Lord encouragement.

So often in this world of woe
People all along the way
Under burdens of their own
Fall down upon the ground and stay.

I pray dear Lord that in this life
Before I’m old and life is spent
I’ll use my hands, my heart, my soul,
To give someone encouragement.
